In this episode I discuss the permitting process, which is the slow part where you’ve invested money and no physical work has been started on the property. This can be a slow and frustrating part of the process so be patient here!
Typically production builders have their plans on file with the City and County which expedites the process. On our home we had a carriage house built, which is not in the builder’s standard plans filed with the City and County, so it slowed down the permit process significantly. In general with construction if you’re doing something outside of the box you can expect it to take longer and cost more.
The main thing I want to convey here is this part of the process just takes time and can be frustrating if you don’t have the right expectations.
