Ok we’re now at the finish stage of the construction progress which is really exciting. Now when you go to check out your home (which will be at least once or twice a week if you’re like we were) you’ll see significant progress being made every time. For out of state buyers I’ll go by every week or two and send them pictures of the progress.
Hardwood floors and carpet will go in, interior paint will happen, light fixtures will be placed, tile work will be done, trim will be installed, etc. This is a stage where it’s not uncommon for mistakes to be made, such as the wrong tile to go in a bathroom or the wrong backsplash in the kitchen. The more often you can stop by and alert the builder when there is an issue the better. (Be patient and give them time to fix it, they will it might not be right away depending on their subcontractors availability)
The finish stage is a fun part of the process and this is the part where it became real for us. After all the waiting now it’s time to start preparing for your move cause it’s coming soon. Check out the brief video below with our builder about the finish stage of the new home buying process. To see the whole new home building video series click here.
As always, if you know someone looking to buy or sell a home I’d love to help!
